Mudvayne Off 'Pledge Of Allegiance' Tour, Joins Soil As Ozzy Tour Openers

(10/5/01, 6 p.m. ET) -- Mudvayne has pulled out of the Pledge Of Allegiance Tour, featuring headliners Slipknot and System Of A Down, due to "personal reasons," according to a spokesperson for the group. Some industry insiders have been buzzing that those "reasons" are related to substance abuse, however the spokesperson contends, "The rumors aren't true." The group's last date on the tour was September 30 in San Diego.
However, Mudvayne won't be taking on a low profile, by any means. The group has been added to Ozzy Osbourne's upcoming Merry Mayhem tour, which kicks off October 31 in Tucson, Arizona. Mudvayne joins Rob Zombie and just-announced Soil as the support acts on the rock legend's first solo tour in seven years.
