Natalie Merchant To Find Her 'Motherland' In November

(7/10/01, 12 p.m. ET) -- Natalie Merchant will release her first studio album since 1998 on November 6. Titled The Motherland, the effort is currently being recorded with producer T-Bone Burnett, whose past credits include the Wallflowers, Counting Crows, and Elvis Costello. New songs include: "Try To Hurt You, " "Put The Law On You, " "Saint Judas, " "The House Is On Fire, " "Motherland, " "Not In This Life, " "Tell Yourself, " "Build A Levee, " "It Just Can't Last, " "I'm Not Gonna Beg, " "Golden Boy, " and "Henry Darger. " The Motherland will be the former 10,000 Maniacs singer's fourth solo album overall, following 1995's Tigerlily, 1998's Ophelia, and 1999's Live In Concert.
