Fat Joe Writes Liner Notes For Big Punisher Album

(10/14/00, 1 p.m.) - Fat Joe will write the liner notes for Big Punisher's second posthumous album, Endangered Species, which is scheduled for a February 6 release. The collection contains classic cuts from Punisher's first two albums, previously unreleased material, and a best-of section featuring Punisher collaborating with other artists.
"This greatest-hits album will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt who was and still is the most lyrical rapper ever to touch a mic," Fat Joe said in a statement.
Guests on the album include Fat Joe, Nas, Noreaga, Raekwon, LOX, Remy Martin, and Beatnuts. Contributing producers include Swizz Beatz, Buckwild, Young Lord, and the Alchemist.
The album's artwork includes photos culled from Punisher's private collection.
Big Punisher, who died February 7 of heart failure, would have been 29 last Friday (November 10). He was nominated for a best rap album Grammy in 1999 his debut album, Capital Punishment, and was the first solo Latino rapper to have a platinum album.
