Phantom Planet Tops 'Launch 'Em' Vote Tally

(11/26/02, 6 p.m. ET) -- Los Angeles guitar-pop group Phantom Planet has emerged as the winner of the first Heineken Presents Launch 'Em Or Leave 'Em online vote, presented by LAUNCH, Your Yahoo! Music Experience (launch.yahoo.com). In a contest spanning eight weeks and four rounds, the group bested competition that included 16 artists overall--the Vines, Flaming Lips, Doves, and Dashboard Confessional among them.
Phantom Planet will now be featured until the end of the year at LAUNCH. Contents includes a photo gallery, biography, and the video for the group's current single, "Lonely Day," from its Epic Records debut album, The Guest.
Fans voting were also entered in a sweepstakes that included a trip for two to Amsterdam, Launch 'Em Or Leave 'Em CD packages, MP3 players, and a guitar autographed by Phantom Planet. For more information, visit here.
