Sixpence None The Richer's Nash Relieved To Be Back

(8/16/02, 3 p.m. ET) -- Five years after making its mark with its self-titled album and the single "Kiss Me," Sixpence None The Richer will finally issue its follow-up, titled Divine Discontent, on October 29. And perhaps no one is more pleased than the group's singer, Leigh Nash.
Nash tells LAUNCH, "It's such a relief. It's really, really a great feeling because I wasn't sure it was gonna happen, and certainly didn't know when."
Sixpence's limbo was due to big business, as the parent company of its label, Squint Records, offered Squint for sale. Squint was finally purchased by Warner Bros., and Divine Discontent will arrive on that company's Reprise label.
Still, Nash says that while she's been waiting for such news literally for years, she still must deal with a dose of skepticism. She tells LAUNCH, "You're kinda caught off guard when you're used to nothing happening and you continue to hear, 'No, no, no, not yet, not yet,' (so) when it does work out you're kinda waiting for the ball to drop again and for things to not be going well. But so far, so good and I think the record's actually coming out October 29."
Divine Discontent features the single, "Breathe Your Name," slated to be issued in September.
