Dandy Warhols Team With Duran Duran's Rhodes For Next Album
06/12/2002 12:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Mark Armstrong
(6/12/02, 12 p.m. ET) - The Dandy Warhols are collaborating with Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes for their next record, due early next year. However, contrary to previous reports that Rhodes would be producing the yet-to-be-named effort, the extent of the collaboration has yet to be determined, according to a spokesperson at the Dandy's label, Capitol Records.
"He might be on a couple of songs," the spokesperson tells LAUNCH.
Also working on the effort if in an unknown creative capacity is storied producer Tony Visconti, known for his landmark work with David Bowie and T. Rex.
Further misinformation clouds the making of the Portland, Oregon group's fourth album. Despite claims on the group's official website (dandywarhols.com) that the "main recording for the album [is] at an end," Capitol Records says the group has only demoed songs and will focus on the album after shows in Europe this summer.
The Dandy Warhols' third album, Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia, arrived in 2000.
