Bosstones Keep The 'Tude Mighty
05/19/2000 4:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Craig Rosen
(5/19/00, 4 p.m. ET) - After a series of club dates across the country marking the release of their sixth studio album, Pay Attention, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones return home this Saturday (May 27) for a massive gig at Foxboro Stadium also featuring Stone Temple Pilots, Cypress Hill, Filter, the Bloodhound Gang, and others. The group will jet over to Europe for 11 dates and return in time to fill its role through much of the summer as co-headliners with Green Day in the Y2K edition of the Warped Tour. In short, the Bosstones are doing what they've always done. Lead singer Dicky Barrett tells LAUNCH that eight friends on the road together with a good attitude is just fine with him. "We're like-minded guys, we want the same thing, we want to enjoy ourselves," Barrett says. "We've gotten ourselves into a position, somehow, ass-backwards and lucky as hell; and when I say 'knock on wood,' I mean knock on wood that we're able to. It'd be crazy for us to argue or fight over any of this crap because we're blessed. The minute we do someone's gonna probably catch us and say, 'All right, you guys, out of the pool, no more fun for you guys.'" Pay Attention can be found at Number 126 on the Billboard 200 chart. -- Neal Weiss, Los Angeles
