(5/19/00, 10 a.m. ET) - Dynamite Hack, currently riding high with its melodramatic interpretation of Eazy-E's "Boyz-N-The Hood," is touring and trying to work in a new drummer at the same time.

Hack's vocalist/guitarist Mark Morris and guitarist Mike Vlahakis told LAUNCH about the difficult task of touring and working in a new bandmember. "It's so hard for us to keep a drummer," Morris said. "We've been through, like, four of them, and we're trying to work in a new guy, and we just got him a week ago. And the album is coming out Tuesday the 23rd. So it's, like... What is it? Four days away or something? I don't know. I don't even know what day it is anymore. So, we tried to tour with this new guy. And we played. . . "

"We've only played like three times together," Vlahakis added.

"We practiced, like, a Tuesday afternoon for two hours, that was all we could practice, and then Wednesday and Thursday the same amount. We left Friday and played to, like, 7,000 people in Tulsa, Oklahoma the next day," Morris said.

The new skinsman is a fellow by the name of Kyle Schneider, who the Austin, Texas-based band describes as "the drumming whore of Austin. He's, like, in seven bands." Vlahakis added, "He's the most incredible drummer, and he can pick up 12 songs in a day. 'Yeah, just play it one more time. OK, I got it.'"

Schneider isn't an official member yet, and Morris hopes that when the band asks him, he'll agree to be a permanent Boy-N-The Hood. Dynamite Hack's debut album, Superfast, arrives in stores May 23.
