Sevendust Discusses Xmas In Light Of 9-11
12/22/2001 10:00 AM, Yahoo! Music Micah Abrams
(12/22/01, 10 a.m. ET) - Sevendust has been affected by the terror attacks of September 11, and the reality of the situation was made even more apparent when the band visited Ground Zero the last time they were in New York. With the holiday season upon us, LAUNCH asked drummer Morgan Rose and guitarist Clint Lowery if Christmas will have more meaning in light of the attacks and the lives lost.
"I don't think that Christmas--of course it's a very religious day and I'm sure that there will be extra, extra prayers done that day. But it goes way past any particular day, I think," said Rose. Added Lowery, "I just feel bad for the families that lost people, and I guess it'll be a day where you want your loved ones to be there with you, which will kind of put a sad note on it."
On Sevendust's latest album, Animosity, the band has a song titled "Xmas Day." The band's latest single, "Praise," is at Number 23 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart.
