(11/2/01, 5 p.m. ET) -- Much has been made about Bush singer-guitarist Gavin Rossdale's ongoing relationship with No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani. Although Gwen has been in the spotlight recently for her award-winning guest stints on releases by Moby and Eve, it's another Stefani who guests on Bush's recently released album, Golden State. Gwen's brother Eric Stefani is featured playing piano on the track "Out Of This World."
Rossdale told LAUNCH how Eric Stefani ended up joining Bush in the studio. "It was just like one of those family Sundays, and I knew that we needed a piano player, so I thought it would be cool to ask him," he said. "So he came and he was great--did it in a couple of takes. He was fine. He's still writing music, crazy, and he's working on animation, doing his short films. He's animation crazy, that boy."
Eric Stefani was a founding member of No Doubt and wrote many of the songs on the band's breakthrough album Tragic Kingdom. As Rossdale pointed out, he's also known for his work as an animator, with credits including work on The Simpsons.
