Cypress Hill Live Album Due December 12

(8/12/00, 7 a.m. ET) - Cypress Hill is scheduled to release its first live album on December 12. The group plans to record and film its August 16 concert at San Francisco's Fillmore Theater for inclusion on the live album, as well as a DVD and VHS project that will be released in conjunction with the live album. Although the forthcoming collection is being billed as a live album, it may include a few new studio tracks. The DVD and VHS portions of the release will include live footage, videos, and a documentary on the band. In addition to the live album, Cypress Hill member Muggs is preparing for the October 3 release of Muggs Presents. . .The Soul Assassins Chapter 2. Artists appearing on the album include GZA/Genius, Cypress Hill, Xzibit, Goodie Mob, Kurupt, Snoop Dogg, Kool G. Rap, Everlast, King Tee, Dilated Peoples, Ras Kass, and Self-Scientific. The collection's first single is GZA/Genius's "When The Fat Lady Sings." GZA/Genius will direct the video for the song, which is scheduled to be shot Monday (August 14) in the Los Angeles area. The first installment of Muggs's Soul Assassins series was released in 1997 and featured selections with Dr. DreB-Real, KRS-One, MC Eiht, and others. -- Soren Baker, Los Angeles
