Sugar Ray, Michelle Branch, Sixpence None The Richer, Ashanti, Play Charity Concert

(11/5/02, 6 p.m. ET) -- Sugar Ray, Michelle Branch, Sixpence None The Richer, and Ashanti performed at the annual Bogart Tour For A Cure charity concert at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on Monday (November 4).
Each artist played short sets. Sugar Ray's hit-filled set featured "Fly," "When It's Over," and "Every Morning." Branch featured the hits "Everywhere" and "All You Wanted," as well as the new song, "Are You Happy Now." Sixpence None The Richer offered up "Kiss Me" and their new single, "Breathe Your Name." Ashanti closed the show, delivering her one-word chartbusters "Foolish," "Happy," and "Baby."
Britney Spears was also honored during the event with the organization's Children's Choice Award for charitable work. The Universal Amphitheatre also received the Children's Choice honor. Television magnate Dick Clark opened and closed the show and comedian Paul Rodriguez also appeared.
Bogart Tour For A Cure is an extension of the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund (NBMF), which is dedicated to cutting-edge, bench-to-bedside research at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. The evening raised close to $1 million for the cause.
As part of the T.J. Martell Foundation, the NBMF has raised more than $175 million over the past 27 years to for groundbreaking research in the areas of pediatric cancer, leukemia, and AIDS.
