(11/5/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- With this week's Country Music Association Awards featuring top nominee Alan Jackson, the return of Shania Twain and much more, the state of country music couldn't be better, according to Montgomery Gentry.
The raucous pair is up for top country duo at this year's ceremony. Troy Gentry told LAUNCH, "I think everything's great right now with Country Music, y'know? The great thing about it is, from the Alan Jacksons to the Faith Hills, there's enough diversity to the music, where, even for us, bringing our style to the table. It's got enough gap right now where anybody can come in with their own musical style and get an opportunity to get airplay."
Montgomery Gentry won the CMA vocal duo of the year award in 2000. The 2002 CMA Awards will be broadcast live on Wednesday, November 6, from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.
