(1/27/00, 6 p.m. ET) - Diamond Rio finally has its sixth man back. Drummer Brian Prout rejoined the band out on the road after recovering from surgery in November to correct carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome.

Prout reunited with Diamond Rio just in time to launch the group's 2000 tour Friday (Jan. 21) in Robinsonville, Miss. "We had three shows in a row on my first weekend back," said Prout. "Honestly, I was sore -- but that was expected. Otherwise, I feel great!"

Prout is as happy to be back as the band is to have him back. Commenting on his fellow band member's return, Dana Williams said, "When Brian sat down and started drumming Friday night, it was smooth as glass -- like he'd never left. Man, I missed him! When six people create a 'sound,' of course you're going to notice some difference." This weekend, Diamond Rio heads to Pennsylvania for two concerts.
