(11/12/97) - Drummer Sterling Campbell has left his most recent post in Soul

Asylum, after playing on the Minneapolis band's two most commercially successful LPs, Grave Dancers Union and Let Your Dim Light Shine. Campbell, a seasoned studio musician who's also drummed for Duran

Duran and other bands, played on the forthcoming Soul Asylum album (due out in March next year), but has since decided to pursue his own music, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Soul Asylum don't plan to look for a replacement for Campbell until their new, as-yet-untitled, much-delayed album is totally finished; it's currently in the mixing stages.
