Eminem Response To Everlast Leaked

(12/4/00, 4 p.m. ET) - Eminem responds to Everlast's "Whitey's Revenge" commentary with the song "Quitter" in the ongoing war of words in which nothing is sacred, and which has been dubbed "white-on-white rhyme" by New York DJ Stretch Armstrong. "Quitter" was not meant for release, according to sources at Shady Records, but the song has surfaced and made its rounds to radio.
In the tune, Eminem repeatedly pokes fun at Everlast's heart ailment and bluntly states in the chorus that if Everlast mentions his daughter's name again on record he will kill him. Halfway through "Quitter," the backing track switches to that of 2Pac's "Hit Em Up," wherein Eminem attacks Everlast in much the same way 2Pac attacked the Notorious B.I.G. in 1996.
D-12, Eminem's new group, also chimes in and takes pops at Everlast. Eminem takes matters to another level late in the song, when he asks all his fans to beat up Everlast on sight, after which "Slim Shady" ends the song with a sarcastic and insincere apology.
Everlast started the back-and-forth exchange with Eminem on "Ear Drum Pop," a song on the Dilated Peoples album The Platform. Eminem first responded with "I Remember," the B-side to D-12's first single, "S--t On You."
