(10/28/99, 7 a.m. PDT) - Controversial rock-rap group Rage Against The Machine has tapped seminal rap group Gang Starr as the opening act for its tour, which kicks off Nov. 19 in Oakland, Calif. This summer, Gang Starr released the critically acclaimed two-disc compilation, Full Clip: A Decade Of Gang Starr, which comprises choice album cuts, singles, B-sides, and soundtrack material, as well as three new songs. The rappers were featured as an opening act, along with newcomer Macy Gray, for Everlast and the Roots earlier this year. During a recent interview with LAUNCH, group frontman Guru shared his excitement about touring. "That's one of my most favorite things besides working in the studio," he said. "Performing live is when it's, like, the glory moment from all that work. It's, like, your life on stage. What are you doing this for? You gotta show people. You gotta make them believe that you're confident in who you are and the music you're doing. You gotta make them feel the music in person, live and direct." Features on Gang Starr, Macy Gray, Everlast, and the Roots are available on LAUNCH.com. Look for a Rage Against The Machine feature soon. -- Karu F.
