(5/3/02, 12 p.m. ET) -- Soul singer Musiq celebrated the imminent release of his sophomore album, Juslisen, with a sultry performance at New York's B.B. King's Nightclub on Wednesday night (May 1). The singer highlighted hits from his debut platinum set, 2000's Aijuswanaseing, and previewed material from the new collection, which is due out on Tuesday (May 7).
Before Musiq took the stage, Black Thought of the Roots got the party started with a performance of "The Next Movement." Afterward, Musiq quickly got the ball rolling with performances of "L' Is Gone," "Mary Go Round," "Love," and "Girl Next Door," for which he enlisted some help from Ayana of Aaries. Musiq sprinkled new material throughout his set, including his current hit, "Halfcrazy," which is currently Number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
Some of the celebrities on hand for Musiq's performance include Jay-Z, Capone-N-Noreaga, Angie Stone, Bilal, and Tyson Beckford.
