Paulina Rubio Gives A Big 'Kiss' To Rock
06/26/2002 7:00 AM, Yahoo! Music Matt Ashare
(6/26/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- Mexican music star Paulina Rubio has been recording in Spanish for two decades, but her Universal debut, Border Girl, is her first album with songs in English. However, she's always loved music in English, especially American rock. LAUNCH asked Rubio if she remembered the first record she ever bought.
"It was Kiss, 'I was made for lovin' you baby, you were made for lovin' me.' The second was Styx, 'Secret, secret, I got a secret.' I'm very rock," she said. "I love it."
Rubio actually recorded a version of Kiss's "I Was Made for Lovin' You" on her new album, which also features her current single, "Don't Say Goodbye."
