Alien Ant Farm's Forthcoming Effort To Be Produced By Stone Temple Pilots Brothers
03/13/2003 12:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Darren Davis
(3/13/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Alien Ant Farm is enlisting Stone Temple Pilots' Dean and Robert DeLeo to help produce its next album. The DeLeo brothers have some spare time, as STP vocalist Scott Weiland is busy recording his second solo record.
The DeLeos, who have no prior producing experience, weren't Alien Ant Farm's first choice. The band originally wanted Jon Brion (Fiona Apple, Badly Drawn Boy), and they also briefly met with former Talking Heads guitarist Jerry Harrison (Live, Crash Test Dummies).
AAF vocalist Dryden Mitchell seems happy with the band's final choice, however; and says that the DeLeos' lack of experience is refreshing.
Alien Ant Farm is in pre-production with the DeLeos and will record the album in Los Angeles in two weeks.
