Rush Preparing For The Road

(4/26/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Rush is set to tour in support of its forthcoming album, Vapor Trails. Rush hasn't been on the road in almost five years, and guitarist Alex Lifeson told LAUNCH he's looking forward to the trek.
"We'll start rehearsals soon. We haven't discussed what material we're going to play, but we'd like to play some other material we haven't played previously or maybe bring back some stuff. I think there's a sense of rebirth in a lot of ways and there's a freshness that we're looking for in everything that we do. So, we'll apply that attitude I think to all aspects of production," he said.
Rush's North American tour kicks off June 28 in Hartford, Connecticut and it ends August 21 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The band is considering billing the show as an evening with Rush, much like it did on the last tour. During the last tour, the show was split, with new and classic songs comprising one half of a show, and the band performing one album side's worth of material from one of their classic gold or platinum albums (Moving Pictures, 2112, Hemispheres, etc.).
