(11/19/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Ryan Adams, Lifehouse, Sixpence None The Richer, Remy Zero, and Five For Fighting are among the artists appearing on Elektra Records' soundtrack to the WB television series, Smallville, set for release February 25.
The hit drama follows the adventures of a pre-Superman, teenage Clark Kent. As with many other WB programs, the series regularly features the music of current recording artists.
The soundtrack includes "Save Me," Smallville's theme song by Remy Zero, as well as Adams's "Nuclear," the non-album Lifehouse track "Everything," and, perhaps an obvious choice, Five For Fighting's 2001 hit, "Superman."
Two '80s remakes are also featured--Sixpence None The Richer's take on Crowded House's hit, "Don't Dream It's Over"; and Eva Cassidy updating Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time." Other tracks on the soundtrack include "Inside Out," by VonRay, and "Wave Goodbye" by Steadman. Both acts are signed to Elektra, with debut albums due next year.
In related news, Remy Zero is scheduled to appear on the show's season finale on May 21 performing both the theme song and the band's latest single, "Perfect Memory." Both songs also appear on the Los Angeles band's current album, The Golden Hum, released on Elektra in September of 2001.
