Papa Roach Bassist Gets Married, Band Heads Overseas

(10/1/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- Papa Roach's Tobin Esperance is now answering for two--the bassist tied the knot in the Northern California coastal town of Carmel last week.
If Esperance so desires, he can turn to his bandmate, Jacoby Shaddix, when it comes to understanding the challenges of having a marriage and a successful rock band peacefully coexist. Shaddix tells LAUNCH, "The one thing I do miss about before we were signed, is I had a schedule," he says. "I worked like a nine-to-five, and that was something that I missed. And now it's just kinda like really up in the air. I can't really plan anything. So that kinda makes you crazy after a while. And then when your lady's in your ear doing this and this when you're trying to, like, handle your business, and you're like, 'Well, this is a job, you know, I have to, like, take it seriously,' and she just doesn't understand, I'm like, 'Shut up,' you know what I'm saying? Women, they'll drive you crazy. I love the bitch."
Papa Roach kicks off a round of overseas dates in support of its latest album, Lovehatetragedy, on Tuesday (October 1) in Osaka, Japan. The group will also perform in Europe and the U.K. over the next five weeks.
