Naomi Judd Gets Her Own Advice Column

(8/8/02, 3 p.m. ET) -- Naomi Judd is back to work in country music, but this time the famous mom will be playing advice columnist. Judd will begin writing Ask Naomi, a regularly featured advice column for Country Weekly magazine beginning with the August 21 issue (on sale August 6). For the column, Judd will hand-pick and respond to questions from readers in each issue giving advice and passing on life lessons she has learned throughout her own journey.
"I'm thrilled to have this forum to be able to speak with the fans," says Judd. "Everywhere I go I get asked questions ranging from how I managed to overcome hepatitis C [a life-threatening virus], to how I raised two hugely successful daughters on my own. I know there is nothing special or different about me and I'm not an expert in anything except maybe making mistakes, but I have had some extraordinary opportunities and adventures in my life and through them I have learned a great deal. Also, people know that I've never been afraid to say exactly what I'm thinking and I've never been short on opinions. And, I'm good for 60 words per minute with gusts up to 150. Writing this column for Country Weekly will be a natural extension of my career."
