(4/8/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- A career retrospective of alternative-rock cult heroes the Jesus & Mary Chain is set for release June 4 from Rhino Records.
The Jesus & Mary Chain: 21 Singles amasses some of the best-known songs from all six of the Scottish group's studio releases from 1984 to 1998, including such favorites as "Just Like Honey," "Happy When It Rains," and "Sometimes Always," the latter a duet with former Mazzy Star vocalist Hope Sandoval.
The Jesus & Mary Chain arrived with considerable buzz in the early '80s, and its pop-meets-feedback sound is often cited as an influence by other artists that followed.
The complete track listing is: "Upside Down," "Never Understand," "You Trip Me Up," "Just Like Honey," "Some Candy Talking," "April Skies," "Happy When It Rains," "Darklands," "Sidewalking," "Blues From A Gun," "Head On," "Rollercoaster," "Reverence," "Far Gone And Out," "Almost Gold," "Snakedriver," "Sometimes Always," "Come On," "I Hate Rock 'N' Roll," "Cracking Up," and "I Love Rock 'N 'Roll."
