Mary Mary On 'Incredible' Direction Of New Album

(2/13/02, 12 p.m. ET) -- Gospel duo Mary Mary, which includes sisters Tina Campbell and Erica Campbell, is scheduled to release its sophomore album, Incredible, June 4 on Columbia Records. The album, which includes songs by gospel luminaries James Cleveland and Walter Hawkins, is the follow-up to the group's 2000 release Thankful, which was certified platinum in December.
Tina and Erica, who both happened to marry (unrelated) men with the surname Campbell, recently explained the direction of their album in the works. Erica explained, "We have songs that address other people like encouraging little girls."
Tina added, "And talking to people who might of had a hard time in life and ended up in a real bad situation, but now they're doing better with the help of God."
Erica continued, "You know, I think this time, we looked, we told stories that we saw looking at other people. So it's a little something to dance to. A little something to cry to, to encourage you. A little bit of everything."
Erica and producer Warryn Campbell were married last May. Thankful includes the top 10 R&B hit, "Shackles (Praise You)."
