Soul Asylum Greatest Hits Coming In September

(7/7/00, 3 p.m., ET) - Soul Asylum will release The Best Of Soul Asylum on September 12 on Columbia Legacy records. The album includes "Runaway Train," "Somebody To Shove," and "Misery,", and 16 other tracks.
Singer Dave Pirner and guitarist Dan Murphy told LAUNCH that they can trace the evolution of the band in the songs. "It's interesting to play a song you wrote 10 years ago and see how things have changed" said Pirner. "You know, you're just playing this song, going, 'Wow, this is how I used to play this chord,' or 'This is how I used to sing,' or 'These are the things I used to talk about in my tunes. You know, I forgot.' And it takes you back to that time pretty instantly. It's like, 'Oh, this is what I was thinking about years ago."
