Counting Crows Prep For New York City Show & Fall U.S. Tour

(7/12/02, 12 p.m. ET) -- Counting Crows hit New York City on Saturday (July 13) for their only scheduled show in North America--so far--to promote their new album, Hard Candy. The group did do a week of opening performances for the Who and appeared at this week's baseball All-Star game, and its schedule right now lists a European tour for August and nothing beyond that.
However, Crows frontman Adam Duritz tells LAUNCH that homeland fans should anticipate plenty of Crows shows for the fall. "We're planning in, you know, late September, October, parts of November to do, like, a whole big U.S. tour, preferably of colleges. We're gonna really try and do, like, all the college towns--not necessarily so many of the big cities, but hit all the college towns. That's the idea, anyways," he says.
The Crows kick off their European tour on August 10 in Zofingen, Switzerland, and have nine shows scheduled through August 26.
