Wallflowers Guitarist Exits
10/12/2001 10:00 AM, Yahoo! Music Kastle
(10/12/01, 10 a.m. ET) -- Wallflowers guitarist Michael Ward has left the band, according to his personal website (michaelward.net).
A spokesperson for the Wallflowers confirmed that Ward had left, but was unable to give LAUNCH details surrounding his departure. The statement on Ward's website simply reads, "Michael has left the Wallflowers. He wishes them well."
Most recently the Wallflowers had toured with John Mellencamp, and the band was getting ready to work on material for the follow-up to 2000's Breach, before the guitarist's departure. No replacement guitarist has yet been named.
The most recent release by the Wallflowers was a cover of the Bee Gees' "I Started A Joke," which appears on the Zoolander soundtrack.
