Ashanti To Release Christmas Album, Perform At Wiltern LG

(10/7/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- Fans of R&B's Ashanti can rock with her during the holidays. The red-hot singer has just recorded Ashanti's Christmas, and it's due out November 18, according to MTV.com. Tunes on the set include holiday classics like "Joy To The World," "Silent Night," and "Winter Wonderland," as well as four new songs.
Meanwhile, the singer will perform at an exclusive celebrity VIP party on October 21 to celebrate the renaming of the historic Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles to the Wiltern LG under a multi-year sponsorship by LG Electronics. The festivities will include a presentation by LG Electronics about the company and its association with Clear Channel Entertainment through the sponsorship of the landmark.
Southern California radio listeners will have the opportunity to attend the event by winning tickets to Ashanti's performance from local radio station giveaways.
The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Linkin Park and Train are among the hundreds of acts that have performed at the Wiltern in just the past two years.
Ashanti is currently nominated for two American Music Awards for favorite female and favorite album in the soul/R&B category. Ashanti will also perform at the ceremony, which will air live on ABC on November 16 starting at 8 p.m. ET.
