Korn Tour Rumors Leak Onto Web

(10/14/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- Korn's North American tour is rumored to be starting on the West Coast in November, but confirmed dates have not been announced yet. Although a tentative list was posted on the Internet Monday (October 13), a representative for the band's management says those dates are, in fact, inaccurate. The list came from the web site of the band Droid, one of the opening acts on the tour, and also the backing band for Korn bassist Fieldy on his Fieldy's Dreams album.
Fieldy gave LAUNCH some background info on Droid. "They're friends of Korn," Fieldy said. "We know 'em. They're just like friends of mine, they just kind of back me up and they know all my songs. And it's like a really heavy version of Fieldy's Dreams when we play live."
Inside sources report that the Korn tour may include five shows in New York City--one in each of the boroughs: Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island.
Korn's new album, Take A Look In The Mirror, arrives in stores on November 25. The new single from the album is "Right Now."
Take A Look In The Mirror is the band's first self-produced effort and was recorded at singer Jonathan Davis' Elementree Studios. Davis recently called the new album, "the best stuff we've ever done. It sounds brutal and very heavy."
The band's last effort, 2002's platinum-selling Untouchables, spawned the single, "Here To Stay," which won a Grammy Award for best metal performance. The disc debuted at Number Two on the Billboard Top 200 and has sold 1.4 million copies in the U.S.
