Harris Travels 'Mississippi to Mali'

Bluesman Corey Harris will
release his fifth studio album, "Mississippi to Mali," on Nov.
18 via Rounder Records.
His second set for the label, the album will feature a
number of guests, including guitarists Ali Farke Toure and Ali
Magassa, percussionist Souleyman Kane, drummer Sam Carr,
multi-instrumentalist Bobby Rush and Sharde Thomas & the Rising
Star Fife and Drum Band.
Harris, who recently appeared on the first episode of
Martin Scorsese 's PBS series "The Blues," will launch a brief
tour next week in Chicago. The trek will include four dates on
the Tell Us the Truth Tour, which begins in early November. The
politically minded tour will also feature Billy Bragg , Lester
Chambers, Steve Earle and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello,
appearing under the name Nightwatchman.
Harris' last album, 2002's "Downhome Sophisticate," peaked
at No. 4 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart.
