Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis said in an online chat last Sunday (March 27) that he will collaborate for a second time with rapper Lil Jon, according to KornWeb.cjb.net. Davis and Jon worked together once before on a cover of Public Enemy's "Fight The Power" that is slated to appear on the soundtrack of the upcoming film, XXX: State Of The Union. But due to an alleged "record company issue," Lil Jon's voice was removed from the song and replaced with rapper Xzibit. Davis described his new tune with Jon as "crunk rock," but wasn't sure if it will show up on Lil Jon's next album or another soundtrack.
The soundtrack to XXX: State Of The Union arrives on April 19, with the movie due out on the 29.
Davis also said in his chat that he and Lil’ Jon have many things in common, including the fact that they both have nine-year-old sons named Nathan.
Korn is expected to begin recording its seventh studio album on April 11, with a September release in the works.
Meanwhile, former Korn guitarist and born-again Christian Brian "Head" Welch has posted his second letter in two weeks to rapper 50 Cent at his HeadToChrist website. Welch called the missive a "personal letter from God" and writes that 50 needs to change the way he lives his life: "If you don't come home to God, you will get killed by one of the bullets that keep coming your way. You're a huge force for the devil right now. He's going to put demons around you...to convince you that money, fame and power are the things you should worship."
Welch has also written a song for 50 called "A Cheap Name," which touches on the same issue.
Welch has been unsuccessful so far in his attempts to deliver the song directly to 50 Cent, but says he's available any time the rapper wants to get together and discuss God. 50's record label said he has no comment.
