Slipknot's concert at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Friday night (April 29) was disrupted by violence, according to Omaha TV station WOWT. Authorities reported that approximately 200 people from the venue's balcony rushed and overpowered security guards on the floor level, entering and overcrowding the area. At least two people were arrested, with one allegedly stunned by a Taser and taken to the hospital. Local and state police, as well as county sheriff's deputies, were called to the scene to restore order.
An estimated 6,000 people were in attendance at the show, the second to last on Slipknot's Subliminal Verses tour.
Meanwhile, members of Slipknot and Shadows Fall made their debut earlier than evening in a Kiss tribute band called '80s Kiss, which opened the show. '80s Kiss was also expected to perform on Saturday night (April 30) in Madison, Wisconsin, on the trek's final date.
The grueling road trip has taken its toll on several members of Slipknot. A couple of shows were canceled earlier this month so that singer Corey Taylor could rest his voice, while percussionist Shawn Crahan had to leave several times to care for his ailing wife. Percussionist Chris Fehn suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), and bassist Paul Gray left the tour on April 20 due to "exhaustion."
