Metallica To Honor Sabbath At Rock Hall Of Fame

The bad news is, 2006 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees Black Sabbath won't be performing at next week's Hall Of Fame ceremony. The good news is, the black-tie event will still be a headbanging experience, because fellow metal legends Metallica will be on hand to perform a short set of Sabbath songs.
"Not only will we be inducting Sabbath, we are going to make a humble attempt at playing some of their songs live in front of the gathered masses, including, most humbling of all, the four members of the band themselves," the band said in a statement on its website. "For all of us in Metallica, Black Sabbath are a major influence not only on our music, but on our lives, and as you can imagine, we're psyched to join Bill [Ward], Geezer [Butler], Ozzy [Osbourne], and Tony [Iommi] for the induction ceremony."
The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2006 ceremony will take place next Monday, March 13, at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Other inductees will include the Sex Pistols (who have already announced they will not attend), Blondie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the late Miles Davis.
