A Los Lonely Bad Boy?

He might sing "Heaven," but authorities have busted Los Lonely
Boys bassist Joey "JoJo" Sacarais Garza for some allegedly unangelic
behavior.
The musician was arrested Saturday in Austin for
marijuana possession and assaulting his fiancée.
Authorities investigating a noise complaint at the city's Omni Hotel
took the 26-year-old bassist into custody after finding him in his room
with fiancee Carina Lyn and a stash of the green stuff.
Travis County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Ruth Bullock told E!
Online that Garza was charged with possession of less than two ounces of
marijuana and assault causing bodily injury for allegedly hitting Lyn.
He was taken to the county jail, booked and released on bond in time to
join his siblings for a concert that night to celebrate last week's
release of the band's latest album, Sacred.
Los
Lonely Boys recently returned to their home state for a promotion blitz,
including a series of in-store performances in Dallas and neighboring
cities.
They're scheduled to fly to Los Angeles for
appearances on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday
night, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Wednesday and Amazon.com's Amazon
Fishbowl with Bill Maher Thursday.
A publicist for
the group, Diana Baron, said that the incident was simply a
"misunderstanding." She said the couple apologized for the disturbance
and were very much in love and looking forward to getting hitched. Baron
said that Lyn was unhurt and had urged police not to arrest Garza. The
publicist did not address the marijuana charge.
Bullock, meanwhile, said the case will likely be sent to the district
attorney once investigators determine whether there's enough evidence to
prosecute the charges.
The arrest comes about a year
and a half after younger brother and band drummer Ringo Garza, 24, was
busted by Texas police for pot possession. The charges were eventually
dropped when his wife claimed the marijuana belonged to her.
The Texas trio--28-year-old Henry on guitar, JoJo on bass
and Ringo on the toms--is known for blending Tex-Mex, blues, country and
rock. After spawning a massive cult following in their native West Texas
stomping grounds and catching the ear of Willie Nelson, Los Lonely Boys
scored a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2004 after their
eponymous debut disc, featuring the hit single "Heaven," soared into
Billboard's Top 10 and sold more than 2 million copies.
