Flaming Lips to release live album

The Flaming Lips will release a live album next year, they have announced. The band recorded the latest performance of their acclaimed current show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles last week, which will form much of the release.
Wayne Coyne and company are in the process of scheduling another gig in their home city of Oklahoma City for the coming months, where they will play and record a series of more obscure tracks.
Speaking to Billboard about the album, bass player Michael Ivins said it was due in early 2007. He said: "We never want to rush stuff out and say, 'Hey, look, it's out for Christmas.'"
