Carrie & Keith: The Road Warriors

11/12/2007 5:00 AM, E! Online

This is gonna be a big one, y'all.

Two of country music's most popular acts, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, have announced plans to coheadline what's sure to be a sellout tour in 2008.

"I can't think of a better person to begin 2008 with than Keith," said Underwood, 24. "He is an amazing entertainer and a well-respected musician, singer and songwriter."

The chart-toppers' Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Carnival Ride tour, which takes its name from Underwood's sophomore album, Carnival Ride, and Urban's latest, Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing, will make stops in 24 U.S. cities throughout the new year, including New York, Baltimore, Wichita, Denver and Anaheim.

The tour will kick off Jan. 31 in a still-unrevealed city. Tickets for the tour will go on sale Dec. 1.

"I'm looking forward to hitting the road with Carrie and to bringing our audiences together for what I think will be a magical night of sights, sounds, songs and solos," Urban, 40, added. (No word on what Nicole Kidman thinks about the arrangement.)

The show will include at least 12 number one singles in its set list, 7 of which come from Urban's oeuvre and 5 courtesy of the American Idol alum.

Urban's Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing debuted at number three when it was released in November 2006. This despite the singer being in rehab at the time and unable to do any promotion. The album has spawned several top hits, including "Once in a Lifetime" and his most recent single, "Everybody." He has a new album, Greatest Hits: 18 Kids, due out Nov. 20.

Meanwhile, Underwood, who racked up two CMA Awards last week, has also enjoyed a banner year, with Carnival Ride debuting at number one on the Billboard 200, selling more than 527,000 copies its first week out—the biggest opening numbers for any female artist in 2007. The first single, "So Small," also hit the top chart spot.

Aside from her forthcoming tour with Urban, Underwood has two dates planned for the immediate future. This Friday, she'll appear alongside Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, Garth Brooks and Vince Gill at the Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular. She's also set to appear at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, on May 4.

Urban, meanwhile, wraps his own long-running Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy World tour in London, Ontario, on Dec. 16.
