Live At Sturgis

Never ones to take things lightly, .38 Special make it a point to inquire as to our health before kicking into "Rockin' Into The Night," in the process giving the people two clichés in one: the obligatory "how y'all doin'?" and the announcement that we would all be "rockin.'" You just never know if some folks are ready for such things.

I got excited when I saw "Twentieth Century Fox" listed as the second cut. I love that Doors cut! Except it was a .38 Special original that I'd say fell in the "not as good" category.

Buffalo Chip Campground in Sturgis, South Dakota must be a pretty amazing place, however. Provided the band didn't use any sweetening to make their audience sound bigger, there are more .38 Special fans in South Dakota than the rest of the world combined. Maybe they should move there! And just to show the guys haven't lost it--in case a live album reprising all their "hits" should make you suspect--the fellas include a song called "Just One Girl" that sounds like something you'd see on the "Country Music" video channel. These guys sure are special! Yuk yuk.
