Byrd's debut showed a man with promising baritone that could do impressive things given the proper melody. About half the time he got one, one songs like "Holdin' Heaven," the Vern Gosdin tune "Back in the Swing of Things" or the old Johnny Paycheck hit "Someone to Give My Love To."
