A Lot About Livin' (And A Litt
10/09/1992 3:00 AM, Yahoo! Music Bill Hobbs
A Mercedes of a record, A Lot About Livin' launched Jackson's high-flying career into the stratosphere with "Chattahoochee," an unstoppable, jaunty song about coming-of-age that also represented another step forward for the singer. But this record was about more than a summery single that went on to win virtually every award it was eligible--Jackson expanded his range to include the bluesy howl of "She Got The Rhythm (And I Got The Blues)" to remaking an old obscure tune, "Mercury Blues," into a modern rockabilly hit. Toss in the trenchant country ballads "Who Says You Can't Have It All" and "Tonight I Climbed The Wall," and you have a modern country masterpiece.
