Don't Rock The Jukebox
05/14/1991 3:00 AM, Yahoo! Music Bill Hobbs
Any similarities between Jackson and another tall, lanky country singer-- Hank Williams--were intentionally highlighted by "Midnight In Montgomery," a spooky Hank's-ghost song that anchored Jackson's music firmly in classic country tradition. At the same time, the title track offered a cheeky defense of country music in the modern age against encroachments from the outside world of rock 'n' roll--yet gave the track a vaguely rock touch.
