Trio II

Back in 1994, Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, and Dolly Parton went into the studio to record a follow-up to 1987's Grammy-winning, platinum-certified collaborative album, Trio. While they completed it, scheduling conflicts and label shuffles prevented the collection from being released--until now, that is. Belated, then, but well worth the wait, as Trio II finds the three country-tinged divas again working their high-harmonied magic on a variety of gems both old (the Carter Family's "Lover's Return") and new (Donagh Long's Celtic ballad, "You'll Never Be The Sun"). Some of the tracks, such as "High Sierra" and "The Blue Train," have appeared already (on Ronstadt's woefully overlooked 1995 album, Feels Like Home); hopefully, they'll get rediscovered within the rich context of this shining effort.
