The Best Of Pat Boone: April Love Review
07/13/2005 4:47 AM, AMG
This budget-priced album contains ten 1974 recordings, among them remakes of several of Pat Boone's 1950s and '60s hits, such as "April Love," "Ain't That A Shame," "Bernardine," "Don't Forbid Me," "Friendly Persuasion," "Moody River," and "Speedy Gonzales." Boone is reasonably faithful to the original arrangements. As usual, he is more comfortable with the ballad material than the rock 'n' roll. This is an inexpensive way to hear some of Pat Boone's most popular material, but most fans will want to stick to the original recordings. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
