Right Down the Line: The Best of Gerry Rafferty is an imperfect 15-track collection of the singer/songwriter's '70s and '80s albums that favors obscure album tracks to actual hits. Of course, his biggest solo hits, "Baker Street" and "Right Down the Line, " are here, but instead of featuring his other lesser hits, the collection draws from his albums, and it doesn't necessarily pick the best songs available either. It's an adequate introduction and overview, but it could have been assembled with more attention and care. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
