By Request: The Best of Billy Vera & the Beaters is a short nine-track best-of album, but is the best introduction to Billy Vera commonly out there. His own major hit, "At This Moment," is included as are eight other tracks. This was the album on which the song (first heard on Family Ties) was available. Sadly, none of them are from his song writing days for Rick Nelson or Barbara Lewis. This album also does not include any of Billy Vera's work with Judy Clay, with whom he formed the first interracial, coed singing duo in the late 1960s. Recommended for those looking for a good, non-overplayed 1980s song like "At This Moment." The "by request" and "best of" titles are both misleading because this non-live compilation is hardly exhaustive. ~ JT Griffith, All Music Guide
