Philadelphia rapper Schoolly D functions better as an absurdist commentator exploring the netherworld of inner city chaos than as a political philosopher or Afrocentric advocate. This 1987 album was among his best, precisely because he chose to be bizarre rather than prophetic and kept things freewheeling instead of didactic. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
