Tonight I Celebrate My Love Review

07/13/2005 4:13 AM, AMG

This Peabo Bryson compilation features ten hit tracks from the late '70s and early '80s, including three duets with Roberta Flack and two with Natalie Cole. The better tracks are both sung and written by Bryson himself, including "I'm So Into You," "Feel the Fire," and "Reaching for the Sky." The only clunker on this album is a cover version of Bobby Caldwell's "What You Won't Do for Love," which is a great song, but this duet with Natalie Cole does not do the original version justice. Peabo Bryson is a master balladeer whose earlier songwriting, which is represented on this album, surpasses his self-penned tunes in the late '80s and throughout the '90s. ~ Tim Griggs, All Music Guide
