Disc one of this live recording is a live version of their masterpiece A Pleasant Shade of Gray. Disc two contains their earlier masterpiece "The Ivory Gate of Dreams" from No Exit. The band gives the tune a nice update, and Alder proves that he can still sing at bat-like decibel levels. The rest of the recording contains some of the band's concert favorites. The one link to their metal years was the inclusion of "Prelude to Ruin" (Awaken the Guardian), proving that they can still peel the paint off the walls. This is a very good live recording and serves as a nice complement to their live video A Pleasant Shade of Gray, released one year earlier. ~ Robert Taylor, All Music Guide
