The Element Of Sonic Defiance Review

Although the Fat Wreck Chords style of galloping -- Bad Religion-fueled punk can be found on The Element of Sonic Defiance -- the maturity of Strung Out has developed with the release of this EP. There's a darker, harder approach to the bands usual fast-paced pop-punk, almost to the point of having a hardcore presence. A nice step up for a band that has been previously labeled as a "NOFX-clone," but nothing that could reel them out of the aforementioned "Fat" category. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
